First BotCon Exclusives Revealed!
On March 24, 2010, BotCon.com unveiled their theme for this year's convention, Generation 2 Redux, as well as a sneak peek at the vehicle mode of their first 2010 Convention Exclusive: Spark.
(Click to enlarge) Spark is a re-deco of the recent Voyager size-class Universe Inferno fire engine mold. It is a homage to the late Generation 1/ early Generation 2 European Autobot toy named Pyro/Spark, respectively. The second exclusive figure was posted on April 2nd, showing both vehicle and robot modes, and hearkened back to the very first BotCon's exclusive: G2 Breakdown. (Click to enlarge) (Click to enlarge) This G2 Redux Breakdown is a re-deco of the Deluxe size-class Sunstreaker/Sideswipe toy, with a new head reminiscent of the Stunticon after which it is named. This is the third time G2 Breakdown has been used at BotCon as an exclusive. BotCon 1994 first used G2 Breakdown as an exclusive, as it was unreleased Hasbro stock for the Generation 2 line. Later, in 2004, BotCon had an Actionmaster version of the character as their exclusive. Much speculation continues as to what the other convention exclusives will be, as well as controversy that reminds one of the discussions held when the Generation 2 toyline was first released in its eye-catching colors. Email Bay for Nimoy!!
Zabgoth of the AUG asks Leonard Nimoy if he did any lines for Unicron in the 1986 Transformers: The Movie. Nimoy said no, contrary to popular belief. He does have interest in working in the Michael Bay Transformers movies, but hasn't been asked by Bay. He suggests that everyone who cares, write Bay an email about having him in part 3.
