Missing Link Bumblebee & Cliffjumper Revealed

Missing Link Cliffjumper and Bumblebee in dynamic poses in front of the G1 Autobot sunburst grid

Amazon Japan has unveiled images of Takara-Tomy’s latest additions to the Masterpiece Missing Link line of Transformers toys: C-03 Bumble (Bumblebee) and C-04 Cliff (Cliffjumper). Masterpiece Missing Link Transformers are toys that resemble the original Transformers toys, but have advanced engineering that allows them posability like current Transformers action figures, allowing for much more dynamic poses.
Last month Masterpiece Missing Link released C-01 Convoy (Optimus Prime with trailer) and C-02 Convoy Anime Edition (Optimus Prime, Animation Model with no trailer). Those toys featured much greater articulation than had previous been seen in the original Optimus Prime action figure, as well as built-in fists and the Autobot Matrix of Leadership.

Following suit, Missing Link Bumblebee and Cliffjumper both possess joints and articulation far beyond that of the original toys they mimic, allowing for poses never before seen in the characters’ 40-year-old versions from 1984, nor in their previous Micro Change incarnations. The Missing Link figures come with their weapon accessories, collector’s card, sticker sheets, and instructions.

The figures are available for pre-order on Amazon Japan and are priced at ¥5,714 ($36.97 USD) each.
As with Missing Link Convoy, it is expected that these toys will soon be available through Hasbro Pulse and other Transformers online retailers. It has a release date of 30th November, 2024 and an earliest delivery date of 3-6 December, 2024. Shipping from Amazon Japan to the United States is estimated at ¥2,830 ($18.29 USD).

Product description
Lost dreams link across time!
The “Missing Link” series, a near-perfect representation of what may have existed in that era.
Bumblebee appears as the third installment.
What if the original Bumblebee was fully posable?
It evokes the size, texture, and nostalgia of that time, but it’s a completely new design!

While inheriting the size, conversion patterns, and basic composition using some die-cast alloys from the original Bumblebee toy, this ideal Bumblebee toy with updated joint articulation and gimmicks as depicted in the anime has been created.

A thorough homage to the era, from the compact box-shaped packaging to the foam tray, it brings back the excitement of opening Transformer products in the 80s more so than a mere reissue.

Bumblebee, the face of the Mini Bot Corps, transforms from a Volkswagen Beetle to a robot, and the car mode is officially licensed by Volkswagen.
Each joint, which had limited posability in the original product, has been changed to be more movable, allowing free posing.
To reproduce scenes from the cartoon, a chrome-plated new sculpted laser gun is included, which can be stored inside in car mode.
The familiar “Secret Emblem” (rubsign) is also attached to the robot body, and the faction symbol appears when warmed with fingers.
Comes with an Autobot symbol and chest mechanical detail foil stickers that users can attach as they like.
A joint hole for a separately sold stand is added to the back of Bumblebee, allowing for action poses.

The package illustration is a newly drawn image in the style of the original Transformers package art, and a collection card with the same illustration is also included.
(Robot mode total height: 76mm)

AMAZON JAPAN PRODUCT DESCRIPTION FOR MISSING LINK CLIFFJUMPER

Brand: TAKARA TOMY
Transformer Missing Link C-04 Cliff

(C) TOMY
Does not use batteries.

Lost dreams link across time!
The “Missing Link” series, a near-perfect representation of what may have existed in that era.
The fourth installment features the energetic character Cliff.
What if the original Cliff was fully posable? Evoking the size, texture, and nostalgia of that time, but it’s a completely new design!

While inheriting the size, conversion patterns, and basic composition using some die-cast alloys from the original Cliff toy, the ideal Cliff toy with updated joint articulation and gimmicks as depicted in the anime has been created.
A thorough homage to that era, from the compact box-shaped packaging to the foam tray, brings back the excitement of opening Transformer products in the 80s more than a mere reissue.
Like Bumblebee, Cliff belongs to the Mini Bot Corps and has shown impressive performances through numerous episodes.
While the product shares almost the same conversion system as Bumblebee, about 80% of the body is specially designed to reproduce the subtle differences from Bumblebee.
Each joint, which was limited in articulation in the original product, has been changed to be more movable, allowing free posing.

As seen in scenes from the cartoon, a chrome-plated new sculpted photon rifle is included. It can be stored inside in car mode.
Additionally, a chrome-plated bazooka, used during the surprise attack on the Decepticon forces while they were building their base in the first episode of the original anime, is newly sculpted and included.
The familiar “Secret Emblem” (rubsign) is also attached to the robot body, and the faction symbol appears when warmed with fingers.
Comes with Autobot symbol foil stickers that users can attach as they like.
A joint hole for a separately sold stand is added to the back of Cliff, allowing for action poses.

The package illustration is a newly drawn image in the style of the original Transformers package art, and a collection card with the same illustration is also included.
