Marvel Legends Death’s Head SDCC Exclusive Figure Revealed
Hasbro Marvel Legends marketer Dan Yun revealed on X/Twitter today that a Death’s Head exclusive figure will be available at the Hasbro Pulse booth at San Diego Comic Con in limited quantities. San Diego Comic Con is running this year from July 25th-28th. Yun also stated in the post, “There will be an opportunity later for ppl who won’t be able to make it to SDCC to get online“.
The package is designed to emulate the 1991 Marvel Universe Series 2 Collectors Card that featured Death’s Head. The Hasbro Marvel Legends action figures are a 6-inch (15.24 cm) scale toy line, as its baseline. Some figures scale larger or smaller, as appropriate for their characters.
The figure is designed in the second style of the character first seen in Death’s Head #1 with the blue outfit and features the character’s replaceable hand/weapon accessory gimmick. This design appeared across many of Death’s Head’s early appearances in the Marvel Universe. Aside from his own 10-issue series, Death’s Head appeared in many of Marvel’s titles. Death’s Head in this form made guest appearances in Fantastic Four, Sensational She-Hulk, Marvel Comics Presents, and What If…?, among others. He also appeared in this style in the graphic novel, Death’s Head: The Body In Question, penned by Death’s Head’s creator, Simon Furman, and illustrated by Geoff Senior.
It is my sincere hope that this figure will have ample supply for the non-attendee sales, as well as Transformers tie-in with his original green outfit.

Hasbro Pulse Official Press Release
A BIT OF DEATH’S HEAD HISTORY
Death’s Head was originally designed to be a character in the Marvel UK Transformers series, appearing initially in his green uniform in Marvel UK’s Transformers #113, but Simon Furman decided to launch him first in a one-page comic, illustrated by Bryan Hitch, titled “High Noon Tex” in Marvel publications, cementing the character as a Marvel property instead of a Transformers character. Death’s Head was featured frequently in the then-future Transformers stories set in the year 2006 and onward, until his attempt to assassinate Unicron jettisoned him out of the Transformers universe and into the Marvel Universe, with some help from The Doctor (in Doctor Who Magazine) who left him first in far future world of Dragon’s Claws in the year 8162, after which he was rebuilt and gain his blue outfit.
Ever the time traveler he later appeared on top of the Fantastic Four’s Four Freedoms Plaza in 1989 before winding up in the year 2020. From there Death’s Head was sometimes employed by the Time Variance Authority and continued to appear in this style until he was assimilated into the Advanced Idea Mechanics cyborg, Minion, who eventually became known as Death’s Head II.
Death’s Head, in his green giant robot form, continues to appear in Marvel Comics, receiving his own limited series as well as appearing in comics such as S.W.O.R.D., Iron Man, Uncanny X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, and many others. With so many adjacent properties being featured in the MCU, many fans hope to see Death’s Head one day as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the character’s 36 year history it has received very few action figure, and none this size. It would be great if it is the first of many.
