Takara-Tomy is launching a new branding initiative named T-Spark, which will feature the Synergenex brand that facilitates crossovers between popular I.P.s. They announced upcoming products for this line that includes a Godzilla-redeco of SS86 Grimlock with a new Megatron head, a Mechagodzilla redeco of G2 Laser Optimus Prime, a Transformers/Zoids/Diaclone crossover figure named Shield-D Prime, a Zoids/Spider-Man crossover set of Spider-Zoids, a Zoids/Patlabor crossover manga titled ZOIDS x Mobile Police Patlabor, and collaborative games like Zoids/Monster Hunter and Transformers/Monster Hunter.

　Takara Tomy Co., Ltd. (Representative Director, President and CEO: Akio Toyama, headquarters: Katsushika-ku, Tokyo) will launch the new ” SYNERGENEX ” series from its high-target hobby label “T-SPARK” in September 2024. Prior to the release, “SYNERGENEX” will be unveiled for the first time at the Tokyo Toy Show 2024, Japan’s largest toy trade fair, which will be held from Thursday, August 29, 2024.

” SYNERGENEX ” is a series that maximizes synergy through collaboration between the company’s own IP (※ 1) such as “Transformers,” “ZOIDS,” and “Diaclone” and other companies’ IP and brands, providing new fun such as unexpected combinations and expanded play (recommended for ages 15 and up).

Three of Takara Tomy’s in-house IPs – the transforming robot characters “Transformers,” the real moving kit (assembly-type moving toy) “ZOIDS,” and the original character sci-fi toy “Diaclone” – will transcend brand boundaries and release their first triple collaboration product , ” SHIELD-D-PRIME,” in 2025.

To celebrate the double anniversaries of Godzilla’s 70th anniversary and Transformers’ 40th anniversary, a collaboration between two of Japan’s biggest global content brands has been realized. Pre-orders for the two products, Megatron Type Godzilla and Optimus Prime Type Kiryu, will begin in November 2024

Pre-orders for the two products, ” SPIDER ZOIDS SPIDER-MAN special “ and ” SPIDER ZOIDS BLACK SPIDER-MAN special ,” which come with a spider-type ZOIDS action figure, were developed based on the concept of “Spider-Man protects the city of New York with the help of spider-like metal lifeforms! “ will begin in early September 2024.

▶ Collaborations with other big content

A variety of collaborations with popular content are planned for the future, such as collaboration products between “ZOIDS” and the anime “Mobile Police Patlabor,” collaboration products between “ZOIDS” and “Transformers” for the 20th anniversary of the hunting action game “Monster Hunter,” and collaboration products for the double anniversary of “Transformers”‘s 40th anniversary and the anime “Macross 7″‘s 30th anniversary.

“Transformers” & “Godzilla” Collaboration Product Overview

A collaboration between two of Japan’s most popular global content has been realized! To commemorate the double anniversaries of Godzilla, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary, and Transformers, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, two products have been released: Megatron Type Godzilla, which is a scan of Godzilla (※2), and Optimus Prime Type 3 Kiryu, which is a scan of Mechagodzilla.

(※2) In the TV anime and movies, Transformers are set to scan vehicles on Earth and transform them.

The Transformers’ Destruction Emperor, Megatron, scans Godzilla and transforms into a form that has Godzilla’s powers! The whole body is decorated with markings that resemble Godzilla’s skin, and the pattern of the dorsal fin when emitting heat rays is reproduced with clear parts and paint. Comes with clear effect parts that reproduce the heat rays.

Optimus Prime Type 3 Kiryu

Optimus Prime, the main character of the “Transformers” series, appears in a new form wearing the silver color of the Godzilla-fighting bio-robot “Type 3 Kiryu (Mechagodzilla)” from “Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla”. The included trailer is modeled after the Special Self-Defense Forces to which Kiryu belongs, and transforms into a base mode that can be played with like a base. It comes with weapons in the color of a maser (a fictional weapon that appears in special effects movies produced by Toho).

Developed with the concept of “Spider-Man protects the city of New York together with spider-type metallic lifeforms!” Each set comes with a 1/35 scale Spider-Man action figure, and the forearm can be replaced with two types of arm parts: a gripping hand and a web-shooting (spider-type) arm. The first movable “Spider-Man figure” in the “ZOIDS” series can be placed on the “ZOIDS” in dynamic poses by using a dedicated stand, or displayed alone.
