Today, August 8th, 2025 is the 39th anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie, which premiered on this date in 1986. 39 years ago we watched our favorite heroes and villains fall (or be reformatted) and saw the rise of an almost entirely new cast of characters with the new threats of Unicron and the Quintessons.
Set in the year 2005, this also means that we are farther in the future from the events of the Movie, as the Movie’s events were from The Transformers Season 2.

So raise a toast to our fallen Cybertronian heroes and the events that changed the Transformers’ lore forever!
